Diet

How can the way you eat affect the way you feel?  Well, obviously, eating fewer calories reduces the amount of stress on your joints, but there are other components to your food that can play a role in your health.  Some of the important attributes are:
  1. pH - acidic vs. alkaline
  2. Omega 3/6 fatty acid content
  3. Inflammatory vs. non-inflammatory
  4. Vitamin/Mineral Content
  5. Absorption capabilities
  6. Sugar type (Simple vs. starch/Glucose vs. Lactose)
  7. Fiber Content
  8. Genetically Modified vs. natural
  9. Organic vs. non-organic
  10. Pasteurized vs. non-pasteurized
  11. Whole grain vs. refined grain
These are some of the things that may be discussed as a part of your treatment plan.  In order for you to reach your full potential, it is very important to know how foods can help or hinder your healing.
